About BYOP Electric

Solar Done Honestly.

The solar industry overcharges you, locks you into leases, and sends commissioned salespeople to your door. BYOP Electric exists because it doesn't have to be that way.

Batsaikhan (Bat) Ariun-Erdene, owner and master electrician at BYOP Electric

Why BYOP Exists

I believe solar is the best technology homeowners can invest in. What I don't believe in is how most of the industry sells it.

Most solar companies send a salesperson to your door. That salesperson earns a commission — sometimes $5,000 or more per deal. That cost gets buried in your price. Then they push a 25-year lease or a high-interest loan that turns a smart investment into a bad financial product.

I started BYOP Electric to cut all of that out. No sales team. No commissions. No leases. Just an electrical engineer and master electrician who designs your system, prices it honestly, and installs it himself.

I earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering because I wanted to understand power systems from first principles — not from a sales script. I hold a Master Electrician license and an E200 Electrical Contractor license in Utah because I believe the person designing your system should be qualified to build it.

When you work with BYOP, you work with me directly. I'll tell you exactly what you need, what you don't, and what it'll cost. If solar doesn't make sense for your home, I'll tell you that too.
